Link REIT appoints former BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate head John Saunders group CIO
Hong-Kong noted Link REIT has announced the appointment of BlackRock’s previous Asia Pacific real estate chief John Saunders as team chief investment officer (CIO) in the newly formed duty.
“We are delighted to invite John, who carries with him a wealth of knowledge and market capability, to the Link family group. The appointment will improve the scope and ability of our managing team and will reinforce our ability as we search for brand-new progress opportunities and lasting returns for unitholders beneath the Link 3.0 method,” says Hongchoy.
Units in Link REIT closed unmodified at HK$ 42.55 ($7.25) on the HKEX on Dec 20.
He signed up with BlackRock with its merging with MGPA in 2013 the minute he was the company’s CEO of Asia and the portfolio executive of their Asian Property Funds series. Prior to joining MGPA, he worked with CLSA in between 1999 and 2007, running their local estate research study attempt and was useful in commencing their Asian Property Fund in which he acted as a financial investment committee associate.
Before that, he operated at Hongkong Land from 1994 to 1998 wherein he was involved with the innovation and leasing of numerous landmark assignments in Singapore and many other Asian states.
He has more than three decades of knowledge in the real estate industry with a solid investment record, most recently at BlackRock where he additionally acted as global head of the realty customer business.
Saunders, who is going to presume the position from March 4 next year, is going to be in charge of Link’s overall investment strategies, profile administration and the calculated growth of Link’s investment organization. He will report to George Hongchoy, Link’s CEO.
